1994年畢業于日本國立愛媛大學，獲博士學位。
1994年4月-2001年9月在日本的大學及公司研究機構工作了7年半。
2001年10月進入上海交通大學環境科學與工程學院工作。

中國環境科學學會水環境分會常務理事，日本環境生態學會會員,《應用基礎與工程科學學報》(EI)編委。主要從事水處理中的吸附與離子交換技術、河湖環境生態工程等方面的研究工作，完成的研究課題近二十項。2002年后主持的科研項目有：國家科技部“十五”863計劃（2項）、973計劃（1項）、環保部（2項）、上海市科委（1項）、中日國際合作項目（筑波大學和京都大學各1項）。國內外以中、日、英文發表論文百余篇。申請獲得國家發明專利15項（已獲授權10項）。
獲得省部級科技進步三等獎1項
- Wu Deyi ,born in March, 1964, graduated from Dept. of Environmental Protection for Organisms, Ehime Univ. Japan in 1994, got the doctorship.
